Structure
The RSLAF is organized into three core departments:
- The Army: Land-based operations (infantry, armor, artillery, engineering, logistics).
- The Air Force: Aerial mobility, surveillance, transport, and aerial support.
- The Navy: Maritime security, coastal patrol, riverine operations.
Leadership
The RSLAF operates under civilian authority and the Constitution of Sierra Leone. The command structure is headed by the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) and Deputy Chief of Defence Staff (DCDS), supported by Brigade Commanders for each region.

History
The RSLAF traces its origins to the Sierra Leone Military Forces, established in 1964. It has evolved to meet contemporary challenges while upholding its constitutional duty to defend the nation.
